Eranad Taluk, located in the north-central part of Malappuram district, Kerala, is a historically significant and densely populated region known for its cultural richness and active political landscape. It comprises around 30 villages, covering a mix of rural areas and fast-developing towns. Agriculture remains an important livelihood in many parts of the taluk, with crops like coconut, banana, and paddy commonly cultivated. However, like much of Malappuram, Eranad also sees strong economic support from overseas remittances and small-scale trade. The taluk includes culturally vibrant communities, mosques, temples, and educational institutions, making it a socially dynamic and economically active part of the district.
