Thiruvananthapuram Taluk is one of six taluks in the Thiruvananthapuram Revenue District, along with Neyyattinkara, Nedumangad, Chirayinkeezhu, Varkala, and Kattakkada. It is the most populous taluk in the state and comprises 30 villages and the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation.
The villages in this taluk are: Andoorkonam, Attipra, Ayiroopara (Iroopara), Cheruvakkal, Kadakampally, Kadinamkulam, Kalliyoor, Kazhakoottam, Keezhthonnakkal, Kowdiar, Kudappanakunnu, Manacaud, Melthonnakkal, Menamkulam, Muttathara, Nemom, Pallippuram, Pangappara, Pattom, Peroorkada, Pettah, Sasthamangalam, Thirumala, Thiruvallam, Thycaud, Uliyazhthura, Ulloor, Vanchiyoor, Vattiyoorkavu, Veiloor, and Venganoor.
The taluk functions as a key administrative, educational, commercial, and IT hub.
