Ottapalam Taluk, located in the northern part of Palakkad district, Kerala, is a region known for its cultural heritage, literary legacy, and scenic rural landscapes. Before the formation of Pattambi Taluk in 2013, Ottapalam was one of the largest taluks in the district. It now comprises around 22 villages, where agriculture, especially paddy and coconut farming, remains a key occupation. The taluk is also home to several well-known educational institutions and temples, contributing to its prominence in Kerala’s cultural and social development. With a mix of traditional livelihoods and modern growth, Ottapalam Taluk continues to play a vital role in the district’s economy and identity.
