Kunnathukal Haritha Karma Sena functions under the Local Self Government Department (LSGD) as part of Kerala’s decentralized waste management initiative. Comprising trained workers from the local community, the unit is responsible for door-to-door collection, segregation, and scientific disposal of household and institutional waste, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene in the rural surroundings of Kunnathukal. Along with waste collection, the Sena actively promotes recycling, resource recovery, and source-level management practices, turning waste into useful materials and reducing environmental impact. By combining service and awareness, the Haritha Karma Sena plays a vital role in maintaining a healthier and greener environment for the panchayat.
