Elappara village is located in Peerumade taluka of Idukki district in Kerala. It is situated 15km away from sub-district headquarter Peermade (tehsildar office) and 80km away from district headquarter Painavu. As per 2009 stats, Upputhara is the gram panchayat of Elappara village. Elappara has a total population of 18,714 people, out of which male population is 9,284 while female population is 9,430.
