The State Water Transport Department is one of the various departments of the state of Kerala. This department exists to provide water transport facilities to the people in the flood-affected areas of the districts of Alappuzha, Kottayam, Kollam, Ernakulam, Kannur and Kasaragod. Although it is a commercial department in name, it is a service department in operation.
