The Employment Department is a department under the Department of Employment and Skill Development of the Government of Kerala. It is one of the largest human resource database managers in the world.

The primary objective of the Employment Department is to act as a conduit between employers and job seekers. The Department is able to recommend candidates with specific qualifications, work experience, and job skills for appointment within the shortest possible time frame.

The Department is constantly striving to provide qualified candidates as and when vacancies are notified by employers through the processes of registration, renewal, selection and appointment recommendations. The Employment Department has a network at various levels to provide services according to the specific needs of the beneficiaries of the Department.
Emphasis is now being given to income-generating jobs and self-employment schemes, in line with the changes in the labor market. New schemes are also being formulated to suit the changing times.
